About Campaign:

Making a difference has become a buzz phrase used by many people to portray their compassion, thoughts and willingness to do something to impact the lives of people who seek help. How do we however, turn our thoughts, ideas and compassion into actions to actually make a difference?

ACT for Change Campaign offers a medium for participants to think, express their thoughts about making a difference and also, engage in actions to make their thoughts a reality. Participants submit inspirational quotes which is used for thank you cards and t-shirts. These cards are given out to people who donate or contribute to participants' action for change and the t-shirts will be given out to participants and beneficiaries of the campaign on Journey for Change 2011. Participants are free to collaborate or work in teams to achieve their target.

eg: a participant can organize a shoe drive individually or can work with a group of people who are interested in doing a shoe drive as well.

Participants will be given customized thank you card with a portrait of themselves, their quote and a brief summary of what the campaign is about. This is our way of saying thank you to donors and spreading the message.

How to get involved:

Participants can take part in this campaign in groups or individually. To take part in this campaign, students have to

  • register by filling out a registration form
  • come up with an inspiring quote
  • clearly state your ACTions for Change (Clothing drive, book drive, toy drive, fund raisers, shoe drive etc.)

What donations will be used for:

Donations and money raised will be used to provide for the basic needs of at-risk youth and children who seek help on our Journey for Change in 2011.

This includes children and youth who cannot afford to pay for tuition, children and youth in need of medical treatment but cannot afford costs or equipments, children and youth without clothes and shoes, donations to public libraries amongst others.
