Interested in getting involved?

Future of Africa offers numerous opportunities for interested students to get involved
There is NO EXPERIENCE required to get involved; however, we expect our members to show dedication and willingness to play an active role in our activities. We are open to new ideas guided by passion, vision to make a difference and an ambition to act towards achieving them. Some of the benefits students can gain from playing an active role in FOA includes:

  • Discovering your potential to make a difference
  • Experience Africa on a first hand bases
  • Gaining self-awareness through experencial and service learning
  • Unlearning stereotypes and misconceptions about Africa
  • Being mindful and accepting of difference

FOA issues membership cards to all registered members. We use these cards to track our member's active participation in club's activities. Students who actively participate in club's initiatives are eligible to:

  • Receive a reference letter indicating active participation
  • Membership Certificate
  • Add FOA to CCR Record
  • Reduced cost to attend FOA sponsored events
  • Reduced cost for FOA swag!

There are different ways to get involved with Future of Africa, however, there is a mutual working relationship between all  these positions to enhance the development of skills and experiences, while getting the task at hand done effectively.

Vice Presidents:

Volunteers in these positions are appointed based on their level of dedication, knowledge about club, enthusiasm, ability to take initiatives and the experience needed to improve the club's development.

Coordinators:

Volunteers in these positions are selected based off their interest and dedication towards the club. There is NO experience required for this position as long as applicants show genuine desire to learn and contribute efficiently to the running of the club. Students who fulfill their roles diligently could be considered to fill the Vice President positions.

FOA Ambassadors:

Ambassadors represent the voice and face of Future of Africa. Volunteers in this position are selected based on their strong people skills, high energy and their ability to promote club's activities and initiatives.
